ABOUT ME

Chinenye Emezie studied Creative Writing at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, before that she earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. Her short stories and essays appear in anthologies and literary journals such as Africa Book Club, Kalahari Review, Book Lovers Hangout, VISI magazine, and others.

 

Chinenye is a previous winner of Africa Book Club short story competition and alumna of the prestigious Hedgebrook Vortex Writers Workshop, Whidbey Island, USA. In 2018, her award winning short story was selected as a study material for the 2nd year students of the Theatre and Performance Department of the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, as a recurring semester course which entails reading, discussing, plus a 10-minute theatre production.

 

After working for several years as a Sub-Editor, professional writer, and writing coach; Chinenye set up her own bookstore in Lagos, Nigeria. Her debut novel titled 'Glass House' was published by Penguin Random House in October, 2021.

Chinenye currently lives in Toronto, Canada where she is pursuing a postgraduate qualification in Communications.
